Fish Collection Tower, Billy Chinook Reservoir, OREGON
Dam structures in the Northwest have created major ecological problems relating to migrating fish (esp. salmon) across the region's river systems. At Lake Billy Chinook, just above Round butte dam, a 80m high tower structure (SWWT) has been designed to modify the current patterns on the lake, cool down the water temperature in summer and collect migrating salmon, which are then transported (by truck) around the dam and its turbines.
